John, Matt, and I flew into JFK on Virgin America where John picked up our giant red Suburban we rented to transport luggage and supplies. We drove to Great Neck, NY then checked in to the Inn at
Great Neck. We scurried off to dinner at Wild Ginger, an Asian fusion restaurant in a strip mall – but it was surprisingly good. Then early to bed to meet the boat in the morning.

John and Matt made the first trip to the storage to retrieve the items packed up from the old boat
followed by an orientation from the staff at Cape Yachts on the boat systems. I worked out in town, did some shopping and even had time for a haircut given the orientation was an all
day project for the boys. It was interrupted only by some Nathan's ‘New York’ hotdogs at the dockside snack bar. We spent our first night on the boat at Brewers Capri Marina in
Port Washington, NY, and enjoyed an amazing Italian/pizza dinner at Pepe Rosso, a short drive away. New York has the absolute best Italian food.

Another day spent provisioning the boat. A welcome break for all was lunch on the waterside deck at Louie's Oyster Bar & Grill and dinner at Mi Ranchito, which was fine, but
California still has my vote as the best Mexican food. Another night on board at Brewers Capri Marina.
